Janine Hara is a native Bay Area resident.  She grew up in Oakland and moved to Alameda after college.  She attended UC Davis and transferred to Samuel Merritt University to finish her Bachelors of Science in Nursing.  She began her career as a Registered Nurse in Labor and Delivery and then became a stay-at-home mom to raise her 3 children: Colin, Jenna and Rya who are now all teenagers.  She went back to work as a Labor and Delivery nurse and after 2 knee injuries/ACL and meniscus surgeries and rehabilitations she decided to pursue a second career as a certified Pilates teacher.  Janine has always found that exercise helps maintain a healthy mind and body and she enjoys participating in a variety of classes from circuit training to kickboxing, to flying trapeze, Pilates, and Zumba…she’s down for almost everything.  She has participated in Tough Mudder and Spartan races and a few 5K marathons.  Janine believes that the fountain of youth lies with the maintenance of mobility and staying active.  She teaches Pilates because she is passionate about helping others improve their overall wellbeing, and strives to help others become stronger, more flexible, and gain a better mind-body connection so they can continue doing all the things they love and need to do.  When she isn’t in the hospital or Pilates studio, she is usually spending time with friends or family, working out, hiking to a waterfall, or on a beach somewhere.
